Hey Karl, I guess I should take mine for a shakedown cruise before pulling the body for paint...might as well be this one if you guys don't mind me tagging along.
Does WEK (Bill) post on this forum? Since we will be going past his neighborhood, I wondered if he is going on this run too.
Todd

Hi Todd, Yes, Superstition Bill does lurk on the site, and every blue moon, writes something. Last I heard, his car is laying dead. He got some nifty ECM that is going to end all his troubles, once he gets it in and set up.
Glad to have you come along. Don't worry about the paint job. We've even got one guy that shows up, sometimes, with a Chevy Orange colored car.

Be careful. You might hurt someone's feelings.

Ok, suspension bolt check done, gas tank filled (just to be able to make it to the one where we meet), fluid checks done, jumper cables in trunk, gopro bolted to rollbar. I hope I'm ready. I'll see you guys at the gas station a little before 10am so I can top off the tank before we hit the road. Looking forward to this!
Todd

I would guess they will be there around 11:30 to noon, if I read the directions correct.
I will be coming from Maricopa which is the opposite from where they will be leaving from.
Where are you? Close to Eloy?

Looks like the incoming weather is going to hold off long enough for us to have a nice, warm sunny drive today...

Nice little crowd, about 9 cars I think. Met a few new guys which is good, one even took pictures with a nice camera. Todd doesn't know it yet, but he was appointed Club Photographer.
After being fed, everybody peeled out of there like they had "Dined and Dashed!"
Nice big burgers, even Scotty said so. And if Scotty says it, you know dam well they gotta be good!

Gary Glasgow AKA SLO- Poke
Enjoyed seeing you guys and looking over your cars. While mine looks done, it is going to be a long while before it will meet my sign off for a
sign off sheet stating " finished and checked '. If any of you plan a trip Montana way feel free to call or get in touch. I am located in Billings which is near Yellowstone park and the Bozeman ski area. It is pretty much a full drive to the Glacier area. In the summer there are car events of all kinds almost every weekend.

Hey Todd. hope you can down load a few of the pictures you took. I don't know how. Good to see you get your car out for a shake down and better yet that it performed just fine for you. Does smell pretty rich, but that's not a bad thing on a new engine. Plenty of time to monkey with the jetting later on.
Pokey, nice talking with you and your wife. Thanks for joining us.
Robert Moore, nice to meet you and seeing your very nice CCx.
I thought Ralphie must have gotten lost, since he had the shortest drive, and was ALMOST the last to arrive.
Grumpy Robert McLinden was the last and didn't know that the last one pays the bill.
I put abut 180 miles on and I'm sure those from the big city did more.
Hope the remaining 70-80 Cobras in the Valley got a nice coat of wax on their cars rather than getting some windshield time.

Ok, I posted a reply to you guys and some pics but I guess my post count on this forum is so low that my post has to be approved by a moderator before it will be applied to this thread. Maybe we will see it tomorrow.

Todd, the easy way is to upload your pics into your own gallery first, then from there insert them into your posts.
It gets confusing, sometimes I can do it another way but I don't do it often enough to give you any hints. (Ask a 5 year-old, they know how! )
I really don't think it has anything to do with the approval of the moderator.

Enjoyed the ride. Ended the day downtown Scottsdale on the grass (no) listening to a great band sing beetles songs for two hours.

My nephew had a blast - Yesterday was his first real exposure to an extended drive in the Cobra... He's hooked.
To everyone that didn't go: you'll all be pleased to hear that Eloy is still there, and it's still every bit the garden spot that Karl made it out to be.
Todd's Gigantosaurus engine made the whole day on only one tank of gas... Not quite as good as my Singer sewing machine 302 EFI, which only burned about 6 gallons...
Oh, and the best part of the day for me: I don't have to cut and re-weld my sidepipes again - Set number 3 is (finally) what I was looking for: Zero drone while cruising (my eardrums were in love), and yet they were still just as raucous and obnoxious as they should be when I hit the volume-pedal.

It was a splendiferous day. The terrain was so flat, I thought we were in Kansas. I enjoyed meeting the newbies . I love your engine set up Todd. Your car looks bad a$$ just the way it sits ! Sure was nice to get the cars out.
