Default EEEEloy Sunday 01/31/16

I'm going to EEEEEEEeeeeeeeLoy! Garden spot of mid-Southern Arizona!
I've been trying to think of a drive that wouldn't involve much freeway driving and wouldn't have us climbing elevation into cold temperatures. How about:

Sunday, January 31,2016

Meet at the Chevron? station at Idaho Rd. and the 60, Superstition Freeway. Depart @ 10am

Drive East on 60 (16 miles) to Florence Junction, Rt 79 . South on Rt 79 (16 more miles) to Florence

Pick up Rt 287 in Florence towards Cooledge

Go 9 miles +- to Rt 87South towards Cooledge

Follow Rt 87 through Cooledge to Eeeeeeeloy

Lunch at The Tumbleweed Inn, 3815 W. Frontier Rd (which is also Rt 87)

The trip is about 75-90 minutes from the Idaho gas station to the Tumbleweed.

Its bar food, nothing special, but a lot better than many of the places we've used. Really nice people with a good "Cheers" vibe.

Folks that want, can hit Interstate 10, just a few miles up Rt 87, to get back to the Valley. I'll return by continuing on Rt 87 to Casa Grande, cut back over to Cooledge, on to Florence, and back to God's Country. The roads are well paved with very little traffic and that, for me, is much more enjoyable that freeway driving.

I ensured the 31st was not a Football Sunday and also that the Renaissance Festival would not be an issue. (it starts SuperBowl Sunday)

And Yes, this is another "East Side Thing". I'm not familiar with any drives on the North or West sides of the Valley, so can't conjure any ideas. I'd certainly be glad to hear other routes and plans. I LIKE to drive my car and baring rain and snow and really cold temps, will be happy as a pigin**** to take her out.

Hope a bunch of youse turn out....unless you prefer to leave the car in the garage and polish it....

Sounds like fun. If I'm recovered, we'll be there.

I'll hook up with you just after you get on 287 in Florence. Guessing around 10:30 to 10:45. If I miss you I'll just go to the restaurant directly. See you Sunday.

Hi Bob, I guess it'll depend on how long it'll take us to get there on who we get to be the rabbit. Scottie is always a good target, and of course, Ralphie, is cop magnet numero uno.

Sounds fun, and I need to meet "The Karlos" in person, since all we have done is trade phone calls... So I'm going to plan to join in, W,W&W permitting.....

That's "Work, Wife, and Weather"... The three co-conspirators who campaign to steal my "hobby time" away from me on a daily basis.

From the sound of it, Eloy trip would be a lot cheaper! Watch out for the shills and don't drink until after you buy a car! Rightttttttttttt!

Where did that come from? Hopefully that will change in a couple days. Stay tuned.

It was scheduled for Tuesday but ran all the way from Kalifornia just to screw up your plans.
