Default Grumpys Kirkham and all his tools for sale 9/17/17 10:00 am

I wanted to let everyone know that Jade (Bobs wife) is having a sale 9/17/17 @ 10:00am.
Everything car related is for sale.
His Kirkham 289 fia was appraised for $95K and she needs $80K for it. (out of my budget so i'm posting it for anyone who has $80K laying around)
PM me if you want Jades cell phone #, I don't want to post it here.

Does the Kirkham include the power train and is it installed? Is it a finished car?

Did he post any photos of his car on CC? If so, can you please post a link? It may help Jade get what she wants for the car.

Thanks.

Does any body have any details on the car? The wife does not know anything about the car. Was hoping someone knew him and the car.
Thanks in advance

It would appear the car is set up for a soft top and side curtains - are they included?

It's an EARLY Kirkam with a 289, leaf springs, 4 speed, etc. As original as it can be. Bob took like 20 years to build. So long he had trouble getting parts from Dave Kirkam since they didn't make them anymore.

AZ Bob
I think it's a 347. Karl might remember. He and I went and looked at it with Bob a few months back. As sweet sounding a small block as you've ever heard!

It has an aluminum block. The suspension work is very nicely done from Kirkham - all neatly machined. Bob couldn't find motor mounts that he liked so he had custom solid mounts made up. The exhausts were custom made, stainless if I remember right. Aluminum case for the trans? I think so. Lots of expensive lightweight pieces.

Much of the work was done at Performance Motorsports. (480) 464-4748. 944 N Country Club Dr Mesa, AZ 85201-4108

I have three unremarkable photos from the visit that Karl and I made. (Karl in front of the car, a top view of the engine, and a poor photo of the Kirkham number plate.) If the buyer will PM me an email address, I'll send them. I can also send Karl, but he's unremarkable too, and he eats...

It's a cool model for the right person with deep pockets, not me.
I did try to buy his Kirkham, that was before I knew it was $80K. (very impressive car)
I am currently car less, but that's OK because I have no time anyways.
I did get a nice set of GoJaks however, just nothing to use them on.

Agree - it would be $115-120K plus to reproduce that car new (base roller is 100K, before the brushed finish, engine, clutch, transmission) plus the shakeout time and effort.

Dan you should buy it. I would but my wife will only let me have one Kirkham at a time.

The car deal is done.
I don't know if we really need two Windex boys in this town.

Another model that will be at the sale, unless Ron took it home today.

Don't even need Windex with that brushed finish Dan just a little scotch brite!

Glad to hear it's found a home. Hope it gets driven - that's what they are made for.

I don't think this one is for sale. I think this one was gifted to a nephew in California.

It would be nice if the club members could support Jade in her garage sale on Sunday at 10:00 AM. Bob had a lot of tools and other interesting bits (books, for example) as well as the kind of unique spare parts that we all seem to accumulate. I'll be there to help her with pricing, etc.. Has anyone else got a couple hours to spare to help out? Please let me know. -Ron
