As we live in Az, we don't have to worry about those cold days so I opted to have epoxy paint instead of carpet. Not the cheap stuff you get at the big box stores, but a professional job. I seem to be working on the beast a lot and have not experienced any chips or cracks. My car doesn't leak oil, but it does mark it's territory... constantly. Clean up is easy too.
