If you don't mind a short haul across the Mojave to So Cal, you should consider Mike LeFevres, who owns Mitech Racing Engines. He worked for Shelby and did a great job on my 482" stroker. You won't be dissapointed. If I can drive there from Prescott, you can certainly do it from the Valley

Jason greggs Jason I think you should look at the best qualified builders and not someone in your area. Fe motors are not a motor that ever TOM,DICK, and HARRY can build. I think you would need to look hard at Gessford Machine, KCR, and Mike lefevers. I would also looks a Master fe builder Joe Boghosian in Cali. He has over 40 years of FE building. There are someothers out there Kuntzs with many years. You get what you pay for, remember that . There are a couple of others that are up and comers for building motors but time will tell. You didn't say what size motor, alum or iron, what you are going to do with your car and motor?? You have a few questions to figure out. Good luck with your car. Rick Lake Ps. not to push you in any direction but George A at Gessford was machinist of the industry last year. I know that KRC has many 1/4 mile records for drag racing. Kuntz is the same. Mike started with shelby and got the alum block off the ground and manufactored. The engineering is tops. Ask anyone with a shelby block how they like it. I know it has had a couple of small problems but they have been worked out.

Jason,
Yep, its arruminum. There is a pretty active bunch of guys here on this forum form Arizona -- I need to join the fun but have been too busy. A great place to see all sorts of cool cars, Cobras included, is the Pavillions car show, every Saturday, at Indian Bend and the 101. You'll love it-- show up at about 3:00 on and you'll be amazed, especially this time of year.

Jason,
I think you mentioned one of the best, and I know Bill will ship one of his engines here. Have talked to him many times and met his crew. Even saw a couple of FE's breathe their first breath. Bill says, "I got 200 blocks, and when they're gone... they're gone!" Thought I wanted one of these for the longest time. Not being close to the valley here shouldn't be a consideration if you want the best.
Cheers,
Steve (decided to go Roush)

thanks all for the advise, comstock you don't have to sell me on Bill P. I got the same offer on the last 200 and would love to have one and will unless a better one come up. the only thing if I have troubles GA is kinda far to pack up an go see. (not too far, but far enough). Rick Lake you asked questions, I have not desided on alum. or iron yet still need to research what is best for my needs and wants. I want a 500+ 427 or 428 probably stoked and with a strong bottem end that will take any thing I throw at it in the future. It will go into a Unique cobra that will be used on the street but is agressive enough for the track (road course) Rick i wrote down the names of your suggestions I will look them up on the net but is there e-mail address's here in the club some where? Thanks again for all the good info I will keep all in touch with up dates,
jason greggs
