I have received a letter once a year on at least one of my cars asking me to provide proof of insurance by return mail. This happened with my Cobra, my Mustang and my Corvette. You send them a photocopy of the card or the policy. It also happened with my wife's car ,an Acura. If you have a $50,000 weekend car, I cannot imagine why you would not comply anyway, regardless of cost.
