OK there were just 3 of us. Mul and I bought the old fart, now pushing 60, his lunch. Had to wipe off his face as he was drooling all over himself sitting with the hundred or so old, old people that were there. Mikey even tried to get on the bus when they were herded out after their lunch. He is going down hill fast!

When I came back I thought I saw you, Mikey, under Gilbert Exit bridge. I came back around and the car was gone. Thought something happened to the car. I know, you pulled over to make a phone call. Mul and I took the 202North off 60 thinking it was open...Not! Easy trip home.

Discovered small gas leak around fittings under breather. Dam! Hope I can get it tighten up for tomorrow.

Jo said she will be there tomorrow for the Sedona trip. Only part of the cobra thing she likes is the social part. The car just scares the **** out of her....I don't know why?

Hey

Boy was it hot today or what? It is 98 at my house now...
Like a fool, I took Mikey's suggestion to find the 202.. great, got a half hour tour of east Mesa.

Mike was in his element, nothing but cotton tops in the restaurant.
Luckily we didn't need second gear on the way over so there was no fear of coyotes...

Happy Birthday Mike... how many 59th birthdays is this?

Steve, Fitz...

Thanks for lunch.

Damn bus driver said I was to old for the bus. Some blue hair kicked me in the shins...

Yes, I was on the phone.

Now..... somebody was watching out for me today. Hershal called and said the windshield decals were done, so I went over there after the Flats. Driving down 19th ave I heard a funny noise coming from the rear of the car. Drove slowly to Hershals and jacked the car up... Found 2 broken wheel studs on the left rear. The other 2 lug nuts were loose. Tighten the 2 remaining lugs and proceeded to drive slowly home. The car sits on jack stands now waiting for me to pull both rear axles and have new stude pressed in. I figure I'll do the same on the front.

Good thing nothing let go on the Tortilla Flat road.

I'll be there tomorrow, but we will have the mustang.

Mike

Mikiec, no need to press in studs. A few 9/16" flat washers, a lug nut, impact wrench and a little never seize will pull the new studs right into the flange. Much easier than pulling the axles.

Thumbs up

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y MIKIE !!!!!!
Sorry I missed you today but the golf gods spoke and I must obey.
I wish you would have left the cobra here and I could have taken you home. I would have had those studs on in about 2 hours. I just finished putting new studs on the GT40 so it's not a hard thing to do.

Mr Mike, I thought that was you? Boy, someone was watching over you today. I always think about going off the deep side of that road if something just Snapped!

Don't feel like the lone ranger. Everytime I drive the car I pop the hood and check for "stuff" and look under it after trip is over. It is the paranoia in me. I always feel under the carb to see if anything is leaking. I felt some gas leaking and tighten it up but the hose connecting front and back isn't perfectly stait. Not sure it this will cause anything to go wrong but to be safe I am driving the Mini tomorrow and take the toy in to adjust.

I remember Gordon saying to me ""The issue with just tightening the one fittings is it changed the orientation of the rest."" So I will take it in for a Doctor visit to be safe before driving anymore trips.
