Thanks for all your volunteer work Gordon, but we had better get the OK from our Exhaulted Ruler: Mike Canning. I just threw out Nov 17th because I'm off that weekend.

I like the Main or the East, the west track is for go-karts and miatas...

Sorry guys, I'd love to do the track, but cannot commit the funds with my uncertain completion date for track-worthiness.
I still have: some motor parts to get (figure pushrod length etc), motor to finish assemble, finish rebuilding the pedal rbox, etc to make the brakes work better, motor to install, redo underdash wiring since removal of A/C and heater, install O2 sensor gage, datalogger, and sensor, build new headers and sidepipes (1/2 finished), jet hot coat said sidepipes and headers, dyno tune EFI system, etc... Not much???
Maybe if y'all can get enough folks together to do this, I could join late (God and car willing) and buy in by dividing my share equally between all others who pre-paid? Sounds like kind of a pain, but I really have to play this one by ear. I'll stay tuned.

Ride with Gordon???? I only know 1 person that smiled throughout a ride with Gordon. Besides my car is to old and has to many miles on it. I put it on the track and it may rebel.

I'll take a pass on the track day. My transmission, suspension, and tires are not really intended for that type thrashing. Drag strips are much more to my liking. I will however, do my best to come out to spectate and kibitz.

John, here is Gordon's suggestion for preparation:
Stuff I would like to see in all the cars.
A complete nut and bolt- do this yourself. This is for saftey's sake.
Fire extingusher- You can get one with a steel mount for about $50 out of summit.
Batteries must have a good hold down.
Snell 2000 or newer helmets-open cars REALLY need full face helmets for the driver.
No fluid leaks.
A quick tech inspection should be done before running.
As you can see, if your cobra is in street shape it is probably in fun-race shape.

Put me on the list. This weekend was the first time around the block for a new build. I should be ready to run in primer form for the Nov 17th date.

It sounds like a great time and a chance for a little quality time with my daughter too. She has been after me to take her tracking and a little seat time. I am ready for cooler weather now but guess I can wait.
