David S. We got another coupe coming for the track day. Andrew said he will be joining us with his Factory Five Coupe. Numbers are going up.

Which date are you guys really talking about ? November 3rd and the 17th have been mentioned. A few of us from Tucson will try to make it. What will be the maximun cost and the minimum cost ? What number of cars do we need to get to the lowest cost per car ? Will this be Cobras only ? Generally what will be the starting time, remember it's dark in the morning in November ? John

If you keep the car revs up high, there will be enough light from the exhaust pipe to see with.

I am replacing the dash guages slowly. There are only two gauges, oil pressure and water temp. that are lighted. Now you know why I carry a flashlight with me. John

Gordon You stated that you know the guys to talk too, have you come up with any information on the free dates or cost?
If we have the track for the day and it is just our group we should have plenty of track time for everyone. (even if your late....) Let's see what Gordon comes up with so we can forward our plans....

They want about $6000- for the centre track per day last time I called... pretty reasonable I think but requires a serious commitment ( like a 100% deposit ) from everyone who wants to go...

Yes, but Gordon will get us a 85% discount? So let's see 6000/25=$240. Smoking deal if............we had .....................25 cars and if......Gordon can get us big big discount. For that kind of $$ would Bondo be interested for a week day or evening?

How about a Track Day in October. ProAutoSports is scheduling Oct 5 to 7th for racing, beginner classes, green group and even giving rides to donators. I received this e-mail today:
ProAutoSports in conjunction with The Arizona Republic and Bondurant Driving School are working to raise money for the 2007 Arizona Republic Charities Drive this fall.
We have been asked to have our members provide hot laps for people donating to the charity.
We are looking for 20 or more Green Group Drivers able to attend Saturday and Sunday at the October 5-7 and Noverber 23-25 events.
If you have a Viper, Porsche, Corvette, BMW or similar street car (Cobra)we need your help.
Check it out here: http://www.proautosports.com/

Or, the SECC event would work too. It's at PIR. Isn't that a nicer track?

Greg, yes, PIR is a bigger track but also faster. PIR is for big boys like the Main Track at Firebird. The ProAuto guys are racing at the small 1.2mi west track which is quite technical for learning, not as big and you pretty much can't hit anything. PIR corner 1 at the entrance to the infield is notorius as is 7 re-entering the oval. (I think I have the corner number right.) PIR has lots of walls close by. And racing with ProAuto is definately cheaper than the prices you show with renting the entire course. All things the same, I'd rather race at PIR too.

You're probably right. I need to learn more an a slower track with less things to hit. I'll probably end up at both events farting around getting passed. They should be fun.

Count me in. I've been on both Firebird main and PIR. I prefer PIR.
