Had a good time in Heber. Took some good pictures I will send on to Mr Mike for posting with others, I'am sure. Left at 5:45AMish and walked in our house door at 8:15AM. Could see your breath when leaving and after dropping from 7600 feet to 3000 feet past Peyson, it started to really heat up outside. Hardly saw a car on the road until south of Peyson.

Fitz, I'm glad you had fun. Linda and I had fun also. Some of us had more fun than others..

What a fun week-end with wonderful friends!
Just wanted to say that it was a fun week-end, so much fun with the greatest group of friends. It just goes to show you that a little rain can't dampen our 'spirits'.
Thanks to Jim and Susan Olsen for opening their home and hospitality to this group. Who would have thought that five years ago they started something, and now can't get rid of us. You two are awesome. Thank you.
And last but not least.......... Welcome to the Best Western!
Ginny C.
P.S. We have our rooms booked for 2009, we'll be back!

My mentor................
More later on our wonderful trip back. Hint: How much fun is it to sit on the freeway, with Hundreds of new friends, for almost 2 hours in the very warm Arizona Desert heat.

At 10:30am and 30 miles south of Payson. I was cruisin along, keeping tabs on 3 mustangs and the rust bucket Olds. We came to a lone DPS SUV on the side of the road with his lights on. We passed him and then around the curve was a very large parking lot. The lot was 2 lanes wide and about 5 miles long. We sat there for just over an hour.
Once we were released from cativity we saw the reason for our confinement. CAR-B-QUE. Nobody was hurt.

Cliff, email 'em to me and I'll resize and post them.
Great time on the trip. I hope Dave and the whole Sawmill family have recovered from the weekend and they better be wearing those shirts next year!
Pam and I left about 6:45. It was actually chilly till just before Star Valley and didn't get hot till well after Rye. We hit Fountain Hills about 8:35 and the sign said 99º but I think that was high by more than a few degrees.
I'll have to wait till I can get together with Pink to edit and post the video we took.

We left about 5-10 min after Mike & Pam, stop in Payson for Breakfast and were home at 9:45a. As it got warmer, I drove faster, at one point we hit 105 on the 101.

Glad you guys could make it. Thank god we aren't car show/trailer people. I just wish there had been more food.
Mikie, tell Ginny I finished the last of the meatballs when I got home!!
I passed officer Anderson going the other way about Forest Lakes. He still remembered the secret Azcobra hand sign.
Had the heater on until Payson. Took the sweatshirt off 10 miles later.

Flipped him off again. You know we strive to maintain a close relationship with these guys and in one gesture Poof all gone.
He was really nice to talk to. Next year we will get the motor officers to smile more.

Jim, you and your lovely bride are wonderful hosts. Linda and I had a great time. We look forward to next year and the years to come.
By the way, Linda would really like to host the AZCobras in San Diego. Maybe we could put together a midnight run to the coast. It would be fun and we could all stay at her place.. just bring sleeping bags. Perhaps a joint venture with the San Diego CC. A run up the coast for lunch to say... San Juan Capistrano and then back down to San Diego for dinner at Red Sails Inn on Shelter Island. Just something to think about.

Danr55,
Wow, that Heber parade looks like it was fun! The town is longer than 1/2 a block!
Next year, San Diego! I like it. We had 16 cars this year in the Scripps Ranch parade and it was a ball. I would love to see a bunch of AZ cars over here next year.
I vote for the Red Sails Inn myself. Great watering hole and restaurant right on San Diego Bay.
Let me know if you are serious! If so, I can help set things up in advance.

I am still anxiously awaiting final delivery of the cobra but we took a trip up to my daughters cabin in Munds park over the holiday and they had a great parade. It looks very similar to the one in heber. Small town, lots of floats, cars etc. The one in Munds park sadly had no Blue oval or cobra representation only those darn chebby's. It would be a fast trip up (under 2 hours from the valley) and the temp was a nice 80 degrees.
