IMHO, I think that's too pessimistic. Most any used SPF that is running and in excellent condition will bring $40K all day long. Add SB-100 credentials like you need in Cali and it's even more a slam dunk at that level.

Until you see a drastic drop in the base price of a new roller (that isn't happening anytime soon), then there will continue to be good, pre-owned bargains to be found in this economy.

CSX4910, keep enjoying those drives!

The SB100 adds value only to someone living in California, outside of that state, it has no value at all. As for prices right now, those that I know have sold (private sale to private sale) have been as low as $33,000 (351W/385hp crate engine with TKO500 transmission, mid teens chassis number, silver but cannot remember if it had stripes or not, and the usual gaggle of options) and as high as $52,000(427FE powered car with a TKO500 or TKO600 transmission, blue with white stripes and again the usual options list). A few in between in the 38K-41K range which seemed to be the sweet spot up until 6 weeks ago......Have not known any to be selling higher than that 52K since the first week in September.

Yet several have been sold at auctions this year for $55-88K (all superformance). I will wait and see. I am not going to argue with anyone until after I sell. I may be wrong, I may be right. It depends on the buyer. Just like there have been CSX cars this year sell for $69000 and some sold for $130000. It all depends on the car and the buyer

Your car is certainly in a different class because of the auto trans/paddles and the big inch 'stack injection' engine. Good luck and we hope you get what you're asking! Higher resale values help all Cobra owners in a rotten economy. We should be cheering you on, not blasting you. I just believe, realistically, that given the overall circumstances of a declining economy, winter season and an auto trans Cobra, the pool of willing buyers for your beautiful car is quite thin at the moment.
