Mike,
I struggled with balancing on my 15" BFGs for quite a while. I finally gave in & let the shop install clip-on weights on the rim instead of the adhesive weights. Wow, what a difference! The tires are still junk, but at least the vast majority of the vibration is gone. The clip-on weights don't look that bad to me now.
