Thanks for that Z-Link, I have been in contact with the supplier and he is trying to fob me off.
He reckons there is no way that there could be anything like that in the radiator.
This is the mob I bought it from.

I have noticed that Australia has become the dumping ground for all kinds of low quality crap and by paying a bit extra it doesn't mean the quality is better your just being ripped off more.

Good luck getting your money back on the rad but what about all the rest of the work that didn't need doing. Just imagine if you had to pay someone to do the work, the car would have been written off in the cost of labour alone just because of a poor quality part.

Well after a couple of conversations with teh radiator supplier this morning, he has agreed to refund me my purchase price.

That is about all I can really expect from him.

Yes it would be a different matter if I had have been paying someone else to do teh work and cost alot more.

As it stands with Coolant, Thermostats, head gasket set, head resurfaceing, and pressure testing, it has cost me an extra $620 after the radiator. But I will be recovering approx half of that with the radiator refund.

Seems strange the radiator bloke didn't keep the 'sand' stuff. I definitely would have kept something like that...for future references.

He said when he flushed it it all just ended up in his water tank.

I was a little annoyed too that he did not keep atleast some of it.
