Default Hazzard Light Switch

Hi Guys, Is anyone aware of the requirements for the hazard light switch? Can it be located anywhere on the dash? Does it need to be illuminated when parkers are on, in other words would a toggle switch be sufficient, or does it have to be an orange triangle or similar ? Thanks Peter.

Have a read of ADR 21/00 instrument panel. If you plan to use a toggle switch then there are requirement around dimension in that ADR. I cant find where illumination is specified.

This is the electical connection requirements from ADR19/02:

Quote:
Electrical connections
The signal shall be given by means of a separate control enabling all the
direction- indicators to be supplied with current simultaneously.

Yeah the requirement is probably for the toggle switch to be a 'rocker' switch....the toggle will take your eye out during a crash ! ;p

Interesting Rob. I wonder what the various state interpretations of toggle switches (e.g., Lucas type) are. I have all my switches of that type and they were fine. I suspect however that they will become non-compliant soon (if not already), as they are in the UK.
