Ben,
I refuse to pay top dollar for anything else for my car that isn't going to stay on permanently.
So there!
Regards.

I purchased these flat key operated bonnet locks from our local Bunnings store in the Hardware section for $20 each.

Bunnings Racing...I got Mate with that printed on a T shirt. He loves the place and I swear half his car came from there.

Are those aluminium coated side-pipes ? I had that coating done on a set of tee-pee heaters on my dune buggy. Man were they a pain to keep clean. That stuff absorbed everything... especially finger prints when they were hot !

The coating looked fantastic up close. Like a coating of salt just begging to be touched..Lots of people got stung.
I believe this was the coating of the day back in the sixties. Most likely that on the daytona sidepipes.

It is just high temp paint.
Looks great for about 3 minutes then goes a nice cream, then bubbles and flakes off.
The sidepipes must get seriously hot though becuase the can says it will withstand 1200 deg f.
The alloy heads would melt at a temp not much higher than that so I would think it would be fair to say it is BS.
I like the white though, I will get them done properly one day...

It was a long time ago but I got the V-Dub headers coated somewhere in Sydney. It was cheap durable and looked good. I think the processed was called "Aluminium sprayed" or something similar. It was an industrial coating so it might exist still today.
