Steering wheel lock

Liam, I recently learned about this requirement when I mentioned to some of the guys down here about putting my ignition on the dash. No idea what the ADR is but these guys deal with engineers all the time and if the engineer says, well... what choice do I have?

Now if the column mounted ignition were to fail after rego and there weren't any more at the wreckers... perhaps I'd have no choice but to move it to the dash?

Not sure on the current rule since the advent of immobalisers, but it required key operated anti theft devices, but not steering lock specificaly. Volvo's did not use steering locks, but had the key on the centre consol and locked the gear shifter either in Park or reverse for manual.

I have retained the steering lock for ignition, and use a dash mounted start button.
