True Les - probably better than the silver/chrome really. But where can one get them for a Harrison. Some us of the sticky sheeting might work except for the edges ...

Merv,. I have stainless ones which I have yet to fit. frankly, They are going to be a pain to fit correctly and would be that much more difficult on a Harrison because of that rear guard lip.

I believe you already know some-one who is capable of making carbon spats.

If he is unwilling then send me a message. There is an RMC owner I know who makes carbon bits and he may be interested in making some. Having access to an un-painted Harrison would be the main problem.

Carbon would look great on your cob because your roll bar is also black.

"Bling-reduced" was the ambition Les. I have a motor trimmer who could make leather or padded vinyl spats for me, based on plastic template with lift-a-dots that I have made and fitted. Not sure if he could do the carbon ones. Do they have to be fitted before painting?

Merv, a mold would have to be made and that should be taken from an unpainted car.

I was referring to an ex student husband to make the carbon spats.

Thanks Spookypt, it looks sort of like that. Needs a bit more work, which it will get in due time. The photo just doesn't show you just how old it looks, it basically looks old and worn out with it's old acrylic paint work, worn leather seats etc, just like a 60's Cobra. I love it. It attracts a lot of attention.

Yeah, that would look trick.

I saw a Cobra the other day that had polished stainless ones recessed into the guards so they were flush. Looked quite effective.

That torneau hides seeing the curve from the rear, but oh yes, it has the distinctive SC curve. You can see the real aggressive curve in the bonnet, run a straight edge across the front guards at the wheel centre and it will touch the bonnet. The curve continues through the cockpit. The photos don't show you, but the originals have a lot taller sides than a lot of the replicas here, but with the originals everything is scaled up . I never understood why I had so much trouble fitting knock-off wheels to my old RMC when it was running the same track as an original. It wasn't till I measured the total width at the front and rear guards, the RMC body was significantly narrower than an original even ignoring the lack of flared lips on the rear. Argh.
