Default For a bit of fun.

Ok, your accountant has just phoned you up saying "You need to spend $50k before the end of financial year".
You have checked with the minister for financial affairs and been given the green light to buy 5 cars with that $50k, you need to check the current market and find your toys, what do you get?

We will not worry about freight costs in this instance, you can buy 2 as project cars and the other 3 must be useable as they are (might require cleaning, polishing tidying up - but not rebuilds)

Must be cars currently for sale (supply link to add as proof) if auctions still running we will go off final sale price (not starting price at .99c)

I have not listed mine yet as I need to find the cars

You have until June 30 to spend the money and present reciepts to accountant.
Happy shopping.

Due to requests, the market now includes USA
Exchange rate is .85c to the dollar and you need to allow $3500 (aus) import costs.

Cars do not need to be road registered, can be museum or track pieces.

I say fire the accountant and save his fee and the $50k. You are only going to get back a portion of that $50k and you will have to claim over a period of several years. Plus not all cars can be legitimate expenses.

Come on, forget all the crap, this place has been on edge for too long and needs to have some fun bought back in.

Just broke the budget by $900, but as we all know some arm twisting will go some way to dropping under the limit.

Maybe a few ideas for you?

Cheers.

I know, i am just giving you s**t. You are right, seems between the RTA spoiling Baz's fun. BMD stealing Kirkhams pics, and everyone bagging out each others kits there is nothing fun to look at.

Such a task requires a degree of research. Stephen has obviously thought of this before to provide such a fast high quality result.

I think Stephen has been dreaming for a while.

Not sure if I should let him get away with his $900 over budget.
But considering he is spending over $40k at one business, I reckon he has a fair chance at haggleing $900 cheaper.

G'day Merv.

Absolutely. I think the real deal will set you back well over a couple of hundred thousand +.

I'd imagine that the one shown here was brought in as a re bodied VW beetle, but for that sort of money you're certainly getting the authentic period looking speedster for next to nicks.

It looks a bit untidy which kind of adds to the patina.

If I had the spare change I'd be on the phone right now!

Cheers.

Steve.

well I know its USD, and not including freight, but I'd go convince the financial controller that we just need a few grand more and we can buy it now....

Ok, here is my initial list

1: This is the parts chaser, used for around town and picking up parts and towing cars home. 1969 Dodge AT114 pick up. $9000
http://cars2.ebay.com.au/DODGE-PICKU...mZ260615685754

2: The weekend fun cruiser. 1960 Thunderbird. $22500
http://cars2.ebay.com.au/1960-Ford-T...mZ110541630551

3: 1972 VH Charger. $13000
http://cars2.ebay.com.au/Chrysler-Ch...mZ320544057608

4: 1969 Toyota Corona, This one would keep Ronda happy (her first car), would honestly spend most its life in the shed and come out for car shows. (Auction not finished but cant see it going up in price) $4000
http://cars2.ebay.com.au/Rare-Toyota...mZ200479411954

And lastly would be a Datsun 180B SSS, at the moment I can only find completed listings for cars in my price range.
Here is an idea. $1525 But reserve not met?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-180b-1...item414f826861

I am actually over budget by $25.00 So I would need to do some wheeling and dealing to save some cash somewhere.
