Default Dash Pad for QLD Compliance

Fellas

Can anyone who's had Ray Cross engineer their car tell me what's the minimum acceptable for the dash crash pad?

It seems to be the case in all the pics posted here that digital cameras can't reproduce them

Thanks
Greg

I know of one guy with a harrison kit that had Ray and used the blue foam camping matress material and then covered it with vinyl. It ended up about 20-25 mm thick. I am not sure if this was the correct thing to do but it passed. There is a spec somewhere regarding the density of the foam required. If you need to speak with him PM me and I will dig up a phone number.

Thanks Fellas

Merv, the borrowing option sounds good thanks! One less job to muck about with. Depending on how long the trimmer has my car, I may need it in a month or so (I hope)

Given the 3 hour drive between us, if you're heading south let me know and maybe i can sort a drop off in Bris or GC

Will do Greg. I will be down for a short trip to Bris next Monday morning and could leave it in the city but I might be easier to post it if you're not coming up?

I don't know if this will help. The check list that I recieved from Ray states "CRASH PAD FITTED TO DASH – PADDED HI-DENSITY FOAM."

Any dangerous or sharp projections must be removed. These include edges that are exposed as a result of cutting and removal of body sections. All edges that vehicle occupants may contact must have a radius of not less than 5mm and a minimum thickness of 5mm of high density energy absorbing foam or similar material bonded to the surface and suitably trimmed.
Hope this helps...Found in Regs
