I've always had a can of WD40 or RP7 on the shelf and I suppose the Gibbs is a modern day /super improved version of the old faithfuls.
I first heard the name when I was speaking to a Pommy guy about motorcycle maintenance. He swore by it for cleaning and protecting exposed metal parts on his bike after riding on salted-snow roads, and said it was also terrific for keeping around the brake master cylinder of his car clean.
I like the way Gibbs is supposed to dry off and leave a slick surface as opposed to WD40 too.
