I have been in talks with Bruce regarding his top and trying to find a way to supply him with glass rear screens, the shipping charges are rediculous though for small quantities so the US guys need to all jump up with orders to make it worth while

Dave,
Do your rear windows fit Bruces tops?

I don't think so, but Bruce is a fibreglass whizz so he'd be able to make subtle changes to his top if needed.

Daves hard back window won't fit my opening rear hatch top, (the one with the windows in the sides) the top is a totally different shape, (the closest hard glass window that might fit is from a Triumph GT6 fastback). Dave's window looks close to fitting my authentic LeMans top, like on FullChat's car, It won't fit on my gull wing door top , or the bubble rear window DragonSnake top. I had a coupla guys that wanted the authenic LeMans tops with the Glass windows, but they evaporated, guess they were just tyre kickers.(99%ers)

Hi Alffie. My car is a few weeks away from engineering so I haven't spent any time getting the hardtop to fit, as it won't be on the car for rego purposes. However, the fibreglass whiz has been over and he was very impressed with the kit. We discussed the best way to cut/shut the top and various options for taking a mould for different body lengths, which he was confident we could achieve. So you can expect an update in about a month's time, as I'm itching to get it on the car - but first things first before the new ADRs take effect!

Paul

Go for it Paul! Seize the day, etc ... Another one passed engineering up her yesterday. Looking forward to seeing that top fitted too.

Hi Tom, I got your message and have put some urgency behind the efforts to scope out price and further details for copies of my hard top. Will give you a call before the end of the week - just waiting on the guy who does the moulds to come back to us.

How close is the DRB body to the Harrison?

After recently getting my top on, I can assure you that there is loads of work in getting them to fit different body shapes.
The CR is most definitly NOTHING like an ERA!!!

The height of the rear edge of the doors in relation to the height of the rear guards is the major issue. Also the angle the boot slopes down will effect the way that it all fits.
I wound up having to extend the hatch lid and recess the windscreen up under the leading edge of the roof in order to get it to sit level.

Entry and exit of the car is not too bad now I am used to it, but if you are a big guy, or none too flexible, forget it!

Gav, not sure about DRB vs Harrison (someone may chime in?) but the DB Replicas hardtop fits the Kenmer body perfectly. For all other kits I would expect a fair bit of modification is required.

Your hardtop looks great. How have you fastened it to the body?

So thats handy for Marty, but what about yours?

The hardtop fixings are a trade secret

Nah, it's fixed to the body behind the doors and either side of the boot through soft top ferrules.

It didn't fly off at speed at the Nationals like one of my good freinds had a bet it would...

His fibreglass guru can sort that out, not my concern - aside from the labour cost.

We are currently fitting (another thread) a hardtop to a Harrison. Harrison and CR are very similar, but quite dissimilar from DRB, as I am advised. The edges around the rear are quite time-consuming to complete, even with this mould which is made for the Harrison.
