I'm Modena, not Mando

Why acrylic and not an enamel Merv? Surely an enamel would be harder wearing?

So sorry Modena. They are similar in some ways ... I hate 'screen' names and much prefer real names ...

I guess an enamel would be harder wearing but they will all pit and scratch, based on the ones I have seen. I did buy a good quality acrylic paint. In some ways it was a holding option until I find a coating that is better and available up this way.

Drive it enough Merv and they will end up tar coated; black and resilient.

Hi Merv, (and anyone looking for custom powder coating).

I friend of mine does custom powder coating and recently did my wheel centres in a metalic gunmetal with a satin clear in powder.

He has a vast aray of different finishes (way more than whats used for pool fencing) and powder products and may have something suitable. Family run business through many generations with a massive amount of knowledge with powder coat.

Worth a call and his work is perfect.

Well done Mando! Some screen names are pretty impenetrable, but I guess that is what people want.
