Jason's Milano is tiny in real life. I can't physically fit into it even with the Gurney bubble. It's a neat thing with the engine bay chocka block full for Holden Grey motor.

Cheers

Baz, I hope you dont mind, but I posted these pics on a Valiant website, one of the members is a retired race car photographer for Race Car News magazine, he was around from late 50's till mid 80's.

Here is what he remembers about the cars pictured.

A Milano GT Holden, possibly Bruce Leer, at Silverdale Hillclimb (I think it's Silverdale)

Erol Richardson, I believe, at the same hill. (Open wheeler)

A Datsun rally car at that hill too.

The back-to-front pic is the Leo Geoghegan Holden with Repco head, MG box and discs etc (Blach FX Back to front due to number on door, but another member has pointed out that only the number is backward - the NSW on rear quarter is correct, the exterior mirror is on drivers door & the rego sticker is in L/H corner)

Next is under the bonnet thereof.

Then there's the Sir Gawainne Baillie Galaxie through the Sandown Fence at the '64 Sandown 6-hour race (as punched through the stout timber by Lex Davison)

Ian Geoghegan's Mustang rear view exiting Suttons Corner at Oran Park, in colour heading out of the Oran Park Esses for that corner and finally, in the Esses at Bathurst.

Spot on Mike,

It is a Milano GT. Very observant. Most people who I have shown the photo to, thought it was a Datsun 260Z.

Everything your mate says is correct Dave with the exception of the Milano's Owner / Driver. It was Dick Willis.

That is normal for a Ford engine.

Yes, Rod bottomed out on a short but steep ramp. The sump plug got ripped out, unfortunately screwing it back in did not stop the oil.

I can confirm that the Chev and Toyota powered Cobras did not need a tow truck to get home.

What time was the driver's parade? I watched Channel 7 from 12 midday, but didn't see a Cobra.
