Hi Modena,

Thanks for your interest. I have changed my mind after some advice on a PM. I have been recommended a set of Goodyear 285x40x17 GS-D3's for the rears which have a much higher wall height and just what I am looking for. This way, I don't have to buy a new set of 15" rims and end up with the look that I am after.

Thanks everyone for their interest.

Hey Baz...
You might want to re-check that ....
I'm pretty sure that the "Wall Height" on the Sumitomos will work out to be 110.25 mm , and the GS-D3 Goodyears to be 114 mm....
That's only a "flea's doodle" difference !

Aren't the "Middle numbers" ......e.g. 315/35/17...and 285/40/17... on all of the tyres sizes a "percentage" of the width ?

i.e. 315 X 35% = 110.25mm
285 X 40% = 114.00mm

Difference in "Wall Height" = 3.75mm ( 15/100ths of an inch )

Have I got this wrong ??

Cheers,
Warren.

Thats right Warren, but the Goodyears are half an inch larger in the overall diameter which is what I'm after.

1/2" is going to be hard to pick as it's only 1/4" top and bottom. I think they will just appear to look bigger because they have a taller sidewall. The gap to the guards will be about the same.

Cheers
