Default Venom motorsports beware!!!

Well after 2 and a half yrs of promises i finally pulled the pin and took all my possessions out of DAVID TUCKER"S shed
After paying $9000.00 in instalments after getting photos of my "build"
$3500 for the body, i recieved after 24 mths.(i went and got it on pretense)
another $1000 to pay for the front end and diff.
$2850 after i recieved a picture of a chassis whith my body on top.
"this was found to be someone elses chassis , not mine.
The rest was for swinging doors and boot and bonnet.
After 2 yrs i started going down to Pakenham every saturday,
This is a 280 klm trip one way.
Anyway after working on Robsrennos car for weeks to get it to a stage where it was rolling,"(i had to take the front end and cut it down and also get his rear end shortened"
supply a steering rack for Robs car,
Supply the door ,boot and bonner hinges because DAVE TUCKER doesnt have a lathe to make the parts he promises at the start.
And while im loading all my stuff onto the trailer and into the back of the car he says my final bill is around $6000.00
This is for a body ($3500 paid for 2 yrs ago.) and a chassis that is tacked together, It actually fell apart on the way home.
I have kept my composure for the last 8 mths just to get something out of his shed.
now it is here i just feel sorry for the others that are left behind
My advice to anyone that is still dealing with DAVID TUCKER is to seek legal advice , but in that i wish you all the luck in the world,
This man couldnt even afford to buy grinder discs or the steel to work on mine.
I had to go and buy it all and his lunch.

BEWARE

And Boxhead, i saw you up at shelbyfest but was to embarrassed to come and say hello because you were right all that time ago.
Stan.
ps: this thread needs to be kept going to warn others of shifty operators like DAVE TUCKER

Mate, your not the first and sadly I doubt that you will be the last.
Just be glad you have something in your hands.

Sorry to hear about your experience Stan. I must admit when I saw you a week or so ago you seemed quite upbeat for someone commuting from Bendigo to Pakenham to do someone else's work which you also had to pay for. Franky I'm amazed - you must have a lot of patience if it took 2.5 years to reach your breaking point!

Thanks for the detailed post. By all accounts there have been many before you, hopefully with detailed accounts like yours the future occurrences will be few.

Chin up
Ben

Hope the body is a good one.
Looks as though you paid top dollar for it.

These scum bags are everywhere. He has followers here on the forum, but they where obviously customers that bought theirs when all the planets where aligned.

What is good to see is that if you type "venom motorsports" into google the first hit is a forum post relating to a different venom motorsports in the UK.

The second hit is this thread.

yep Gav.
The body seems solid enough..
A lot of guys have his bodies.
i was quite amaised at shelbyfest to see so many of his bodies and chassis there.
And this was my observation backed up by a well known finisher and sponser of shelbyfest.

The best thing anyone who has had dealings with Mr.#UCKER and some other shonks is not give the PRICKs ANY credit for anything he or they have supplied or produced!!!!
But people seem to get their cars finished and then proudly tout where it came from with a gentle warning...Instead of saying STAY THE FARK away from the farkers you will get burnt and will cost you time and money !!!

But the buyers will continue to go there because of their budgets ...they come here ask the questions!!!...get told !!!!...don't listen and get burnt!!!!

Good luck with the build mate ...when someone asks who's car it is make it yours!!! ...like I said don't give the pricks any credit!!!

Sorry to hear about the troubles you are having. It sucks to have your dreams buggered up by someone dodgy.

I learnt a long time ago that the cheapest way to start often turns out to be the most expensive to finish.

It's awful to hear of your dramas...

It goes without saying, but just to clarify for anyone new to Cobras... the business in this thread has no affiliation with Scotty from Venom Custom Fabrications in Brisbane (who is a legit and genuine guy with a long list of satisfied customers in Qld and beyond).

That is correct Craig, and a valid point to make.

Having built at least 6 Cobras, I can say that barring a customers finance's it has never taken more than 6 mths to complete a car.......including paint and at least a week at the custom exhaust shop.........To mount all the suspension to the frame should not take more than a day or two.... !

OH TO LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE!!!.........Cheap labour and such an abundance of automotive treasures!!!

Budgets and redtape play a huge role in the good majority of builds here!!!!
We have a terrific group of guys building cars for people here but as with most places you have 1 or 2 bad eggs that pray on the DREAM that guys have to build these cars!!
....the guy in question here has worked in this way for all of 15 yrs... he constantly reinvents himself and catches more flies in his web of deception!!!

So after employing my worker after hours for three hours, the chassis is welded up to a stage where it can be put on the ground and have the motor /trans located.>>>>
What the...... it dont fit.....
Thinks we need to cut and reweld a few bits in the firewall /footwell area.
Seems this Guy is /was good for body's and chassis a long time ago but that was all.
Anything above that does seem out of this guys reach.
This is a guy selling kits that has never completed a cobra in his lifetime.
You would think that a man with a 15 yr time span in the business of building Cobra's and GT 40's would at least have one or two himself.
Nope....... cant even afford to build himself one.
There's a guy in Port MacQuarie by the name of Blair that has invested a LOT of money into a Gt 40 .
He want a carbon fibre body. raw not painted.
Daves moulds are rooted. He cant do it.
He wants a carbon fibre chassis.
Hahahaha. Dave cant even get a steel one out in 2 and a half yrs let alone a carbon fibre one.
I mean this is formular one stuff this guy is talking.
But Dave says he can do it.
Just give him the money first.
Seriously, anyone out there lurking and has committed to this guy, you need to seek legal help to get your money back.
Because if this guy has you in for a build, he has nothing to show for it .
Trust me , i have been there every w/end for the last 8 mths and not a thing has been done on any cobra or gt 40 that i have seen.
As i say , this guy needs to be shut down.

Oh, we have our share of scammers. Indy Motors and all their various aliases comes to mind. Let the buyer beware and always conduct due diligence before parting with your hard earned cash.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles sjelby, but it sounds like you are on the road to setting it right. Good luck!
