Also, make sure the 2 surfaces are clean and dry, otherwise it'll slip easily.I've used a tool that stretches the boot over the cv joint, without having to dismantle it. Amazing how much it stretches without splitting. Don't ever use a cv boot with a joint down the centre. Looks like a great idea. You can replace the boot without having to dismantle anything, but I've seen them come apart.

JD, The guys at my local workshop won't use the strechy ones any more as they say they were only getting about 12 monthe out of a new boot.
Seems the softer rubber that allows them to stretch isn't up to scratch, particularly on the front outer joints.

Yer, they were very thin. Not like some genuine boots. Messy job.
