Also, make sure the 2 surfaces are clean and dry, otherwise it'll slip easily.I've used a tool that stretches the boot over the cv joint, without having to dismantle it. Amazing how much it stretches without splitting. Don't ever use a cv boot with a joint down the centre. Looks like a great idea. You can replace the boot without having to dismantle anything, but I've seen them come apart.
