Hi.
Just to be clear, when you say I cannot use the holden sensor, is this because its output will not suit my oil pressure instrument?
Or is there a different reason. Just trying to get a better understanding on all this.
Thx

ls3 sensor is 3 wire
5v earth and signal
yr oil gauge in car would only be a single wire sensor with just a resistance to ground

Hi sideshow.
Thx again for your past help. Another question if I may.
When providing power to the ECU, I note there is a main power feed to connect the fuse bus to the battery, and an ignition on feed to turn on the ECU when the key is set to on.
However, do you need a signal for when the key is in the start or engine cranking position? I cannot see anything for this, but I expected there would be provision for this.
Thanks again.

Yep I did exactly the same thing when I put the L98 into the rodeo. Works fine no worries at all.

the ve ecus have start in and start out
but when its in a conversion we normallly bypass all that
and pretty sure the gmmp looms dont have it either
just run start from key directly to starter
or run it thru relay if your running immobiliser
ive only wired up one gmmp loom and since i charge 1000 times more for those looms
i dont get to do much heheehehehheeheh

Back with more questions
Hi everyone,
thx again for all your help in the past and if you don't mind, I need to ask for assistance again.
The wiring is getting there I think (and doing my head in!) but I need to check a couple things with you all.
Firstly, the LS3 starter motor.
Looking at the above picture I guess the green arrow is pointing to a connector that the start wire from the key should run to. Is this correct? If yes, any ideas on where I can get the matching male connector?
And while we look at this pic, does the yellow arrow point to a possible ground location? If yes, should I be connecting to it? I have earthed the motor to ground from a bolt in the block just in front of the starter - is this sufficient?
Moving to the next picture, this is of a connector (purple arrow) that is on the right hand side of the TR6060 gearbox towards the front. This photo is taken looking up with the front to the left.
I am guessing (hoping) this is the reversing switch. Can anyone comment on this and if it is, can anyone advise as to where to get the matching connector. Also, with regards to wiring thru this switch, I am guessing it is power to switch, then continue down and thru the reversing lights, then to ground. Does that sound about right?
And to the last photo, if we look at this connector (yellow arrow) can anyone confirm it is the vehicle speed sensor.
I think it is because the plug on the loom marked speed sensor fits there, but I want to make sure. This sensor is up the back near the gearbox output, right hand side.
Many thanks again.

Fk i love these gmmp looms with half the **** missing heheheheh
Is that starter a ve starter
I have a plug but its off a customers loom. I might be able to find one but might take three weeks time as I'm chilling out on Fraser Island
Second pic is reverse switch I think
They are a two pin weather pack plug. Easy to find
Just get right type. Either male or female
Last pic is speed sensor so if plug fits the use it
Is your ecu a gmmp one
Or a ve one as the ve one might not work with that speed sensor as
The ve ones needs abit of programming for gauges to work

Yellow arrow on the starter is a bolt hole for the heatshield
So I'm guessing u have a ve starter
Do not run the earth to it
Run earth to block

Thx again sideshow, especially for taking time from your hols to answer my questions. The loom is GMPP which in hindsight may not have been the best way to go, but its what I have so I need to make it work.
Anyway, thx for your answers, I do have some weatherpack connectors, so that should make the reverse easy. I don't suppose the starter connector is weatherpack too?

I don't think starter is weatherpack
look inside the connector see if its rectangle
or circle terminal
if its circular maybe u can use weatherpack terminal
and push it on
if it fits the crimp short bit of wire and then push it on and araldite
it in the starter connector
then fit generic terminal on end of short wire
I'm not home for a week or so so I can't go look at what proper terminal
looks like exactly

don't think it's weatherpack
u might just have to find a terminal
to push onto starter and then hook a small
pigtail wire onto it
I won't be home for a week so I can't see how the
ve starter looks like
I know it's round

Hey jethrow we came home early from Hervey Bay due to bad weather
I had a look at the ve loom I got which is from a 09 ve commodore and it has a ring eyelet
On the end of the starter motor wiring
So yours might be a different year model which had the weird round plug
I spoke to double dip he said he might have used a spade terminal before he isn't sure
Can u look at what terminal inside it is shaped like
I'm getting a loom from warrick in next few days so ill look at it

Hi sideshow.
I do have the GMPP loom and ECU so hopefully the speedo etc should be ok (I hope).
The connector for the starter motor is a male pin, rectangular in cross section, maybe 2mm x 1mm in size. Sits in a round cavity where the connector plug should seal when seated.
I think the connecotr is by AC Delco, and is either part number PT170 or number PT2766. Not 100% sure which one is right, and these may be interchangeable anyways.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thx again.
