Interesting ^ ...and rather rare for around here I'd suggest.

Where did you find that?
What's the plan for it?
Any thoughts on how your going to dress it up?

Thanks for posting.

Just for the previous comments on emissions, this is an interesting article on wheeler dealers getting a cobra with a chev and carb through emissions in england, not sure who rules are tougher, but they seem to get the emissions right down on this cobra.

I found it in QLD just around the corner from Absolute Pace.
Short term plan is to keep it stock and dress it up with a little bit of bling.
Long term plan is a full re build and maybe even stroke iT! Throttle body injection or an 8 stack system.
I still have a long way to go in my build so I'm trying not to think to far ahead.
I have already lost too much sleep thinking about engines, Coyote, Windsor, LSX, one sheep, two sheep **)**)**)

Having just come back from the UK and seeing many kitcars there, a lot of them run carbies from 'new." No problem with emmisions compliance, but they all winge about how difficult it is to get an ICV on the road!

Treeve 01-17-2014 11:47 PM

In the UK you only have to pass emissions based on the year of the engine. So a lot easier than here. Especially if you find a pre-1972 block, because the emissions for the vehicle is "is there visible smoke at idle?" Yes is a fail, other than that, go for it. then change the motor for a newer one and you're laughing because the same emissions test will apply for the life of your ICV. There are some advantages to the UK, honest!

Happy birthday!

Just a warning on that F4--- 351 roller block, there is a cracking issue that is coming to the attention of USA builders, in the #2 & 4 cam bearing area where the bolt for the lifter retainer spyder bolts on, cannot be seen until the cam bearing is removed, if the crack develop's further the cam bearing can move & therefore cause an oil pressure drop along with a few other critical issues. Might be a problem worth looking into on production 5 liter roller blocks as well. Pic attached is from ford strokers website.

Thanks Jac Mac, Hopefully when we tear the engine down we don't find any cracks.

Looking good D4. Are you devolping the units or lucky enough to get one. What a fantastic setup.

Cheers

Russell

I was lucky enough to get one of the five front units, they sold out in 3 weeks from release. It seems like I've been waiting forever to see some progress on this Shed build.
Hangin' out to move in to HQ 4 AP16.

Looks great Darryl!! It will be a great set up for your build.

Are you going to have a beer fridge??

Tony

d488y2 02-19-2014 11:17 PM

Beer Fridge

Hi Darryl

It doesn't matter what sort of cooling apparatus is used as long as it does the job.

When do you expect to take delivery of your Pace 427 SC.

Cheers

Brad

d488y2 02-20-2014 01:58 AM

Delivery is planned for June or July.

As cool as those wheels look....I just drove home in the Cobra from Ipswich ( Queensland Raceway) to the Gold Coast in the rain...

I would not have liked that run on those tyres in that picture.

They worry me a bit !

Cheers,
Warren

Had the cobra out on the weekend and got caught in the same storm that shut down wet and wild and knocked out half the traffic lights in the area. Took shelter in a servo with about a dozen bikes that had the same idea. Like Port Douglas January rain with lightning crashing all around - went sideways off the freeway in my haste to exit which was very exciting (ie. I plucked her into first, gave it some Jandals and F nahhh).

Amazing the attention you get in the cobra driving around Sydney CBD. Including one guy who was pissed off I had the hide to do a reverse park in front of him and held him up for all of 5 seconds. He said CU Next Tuesday as he went past. More evidence everyone likes a cobra - he wanted to catch up later in the week! Anyway, heres another inspirational pic for you - thinking of changing my stripes to white after seeing this one:

Thanks for the pics, the black Cobra looks Mint. Here's another for some inspiration.
