Yep, he likes his hill climbs but does a fair bit of sprint stuff as well.

Mark broke the diff out of it just before the last corner on his first run at the national hill climbs. Bit disappointing, but that's racing.

I think he's at the Mt. Cotton hill climb championships this weekend.

Good night last night...

Geof Taunton in his BDM Race Cobra was the quickest with a 10.3 secs. @ 135 MPH !

Peter Hancock ( Drag Slicks)was the quickest of the street Cobras...11.454 secs. @ 126 mph

Ashley Bright ( Drag Slicks) 11.504secs. @ 122 mph

Me ( STREET TYRES/Boot full of gear/ MUCH heavier driver/bag of excuses about being a new car and old driver etc. etc.etc.) 11.577secs. @ 125 mph

Wayne Proctor ( Carby/electrical issues) 11.8secs @ 125 mph

Mick Warnock and Gary Hall , ( sorry I don't know the exact details) , but also recorded 11 second runs.

I've never been to the drags with the Cobras before, where everyone did better than 12 second passes....some strong street cars, that's for sure

Great night....just gotta get some sticky tyres if I want to beat the quicker blokes.

Cheers,
Warren

Just want to point out that mine and Petes tyres are not 'Drag Slicks' but 'Drag Radials', I drove my car to and from the track and they are my 'street' tyres....... And Wazzas tyres are KU36 Kumho's, a semi slick to be truthful. Wazzas car did very well considering it was the largest engine there on the night....

All jokes aside it was a great night, I know we always say this but we will have to do it again soon. I wonder how much my 28 spline axles can handle....

Thanks Gav...
I'm glad someone can see that.....

I campaigned feverishly last night for a "D.R.A." ( Drag Radial Allowance".)

I needed someone else to be on my side for that argument...but I was outnumbered, by the semi-professional Drag Racers.

My humble little street car on standard old street tyres never had a chance !

The 10.5" drag radial class cars can run as fast as in the sixes, so I would say they have a bit of an advantage on street tyres.

C'mon Ash fire up!!!

Gav I've done better 60 foot times in the past on T/as!!!

Bummed I didn't go out to watch but this I had back surgery this morning so I couldn't attend. Well done to all. Wazza I've already heard from Ronaldo the Butler who reckons he could have provided some advice to help improve your on track performance!!

Any pics from the evening?

Hey Gav, just noticed the time you ran to win the trophy at this years nationals for the 1/8 mile drags. The big new stroker ran over 2 tenths slower than your old motor from the year before, whats goin on!, I bet your glad that i was overseas or that trophy would probably be sitting on my mantlepiece.
