Lovely car!! I love GT-40's. I'd like to build one after I finish my Cobra.

Yes, it is. It's called 'ACL Heat Shielding'. Boxhead's link is what I bought too for another car I used to own.

It's very bendable.

yes that is the stuff i used. to mount on my exhaust i used a radiator 2 inch hose clamp and folded a strip of alloy into a U shape. one end i slide under the hose clamp and the other end i pop riveted to the heatshield material when in place. The stuff is awesome...... my restricted noise and emission exhaust was making huge heat.......

making progress with the 40, new 414 stroker Windsor going in, 6spd upgraded gearbox, broke the rear cockpit window swinging motor in which sucks.

Next job is 15 inch wheels and baggy tyres. Does anyone have a used set of Goodyear billboards or Avons they want to sell? i am not sure what i need so a set to start off with will be a big help.

ps....sorry about the upside down pic....

Is a lovely piece of kit..

Re the heat shield question.. try VPW in Aus.. they have a similar shielding material which can be worked into a range of shapes.

Cheers

Chris

Finally got a good drive. The Avon tyres and Image wheels give the car that 60's look but they hang on well. The 414 Stroker motor gives the car great go but sadly my alternator housing broke ending the drive.

Feels good to have the car back on the road. It's nearly where I want it to be.
Last job is to changed out the 8 stack for Webers then the car is finally finished.
