How resilient is the Gel-coat to minor scratching?

I've been working with some fiberglass bits at home recently and found the Gel-coat really marked easily,, was also easy to buff out as well though.

Maybe clear coating would make them pop even more and help to stop scuffing of the gel-coat.

Spectacular looking Dean. Love the colour too.
