There's some great suggestions there.
If I were you I'd drive it back. Fly there, get paperwork, insurances etc done in the morning, service it midday with DRB, pace or any trusted mechanic or spanner head you know and cruise back. Excellent tip from Legless to get premium roadside insurance too.
