Factory 5 Build G/Box Question
Hello again,
Has anyone been successful in repositioning the gear selector on a TR6060 gearbox out of a FG ford.
I don't want to go down the MWood avenue quite yet but would really like to get an idea what others out there have come up with so far.
Cheers in advance.

Yep, that's some of my work
I recently completed one for Ben (Modena) for his CR. Ive got s new shift lever design I've been using on more recent boxes. I'll post s couple of pics when I'm back in town.
I also do s few things to the internals to help them.survive.
Cheers

Here's the new shifter setup. The bolt on shift lever makes for a bit more flexibility with shifter styles. Allows for a traditional style shift lever etc.
The new shifter is all billet and stainless steel.
Cheers

Hi Psycho,
I have a TR6060, under the centre cover, there is already a ball socket for centre mount shifter, no need to cut the shaft like the T56's, Correct me if i'm wrong here Mike with the T56.
I bought a Core Hurst Shifter specifically to suit the TR6060 box, i dont know what the difference is with the T56 version, but they are different somehow, i have heard the T56 version fits, but cant select reverse, this may not be true though.

Psycho that does not look like a 6060. What did it come out of and can you give us the TUET part numbers off the casing?

Dave W --- is that heat dissipating paint on the gearbox ? or are you intending for the use of a trans oil cooler ?
The T56 is fairly versatile for shifter positioning -- just ask Mal Wood

Looks very much like T56 to me. The selector even looks like it has the old CAGS solenoid guide on it.
CAGS is Computer Aided Gear Selection and it was an aid for the 2-3 shift that forced the selector across via a solenoid indexing in a grove in the selector.
As Ben says if you can find the tag on it with the part number we'll know for certain.
Cheers

It's looking like it's a TR6060. TUET is the prefix for both T56 and TR6060.
It's got the longer ford Extension housing which confused me initially.
Yours was manufactured on June 28 2008
There is not much difference between it and the regular T56. It's still only got triple cone syncros in 1-2 and double cone for the others. Supposedly there have been some improvement in the shifting mechanism internally.
The ratios are 1st 2.98:1, 2nd 1.78:1, 3rd 1.30:1, 4th 1.00:1, 5th 0.71:1 and 6th 0.55:1
Cheers
