I did a TAFE MIG welding course years ago. It was a DOL certification course back then. They let me attend despite not being in the industry. I wasn't allowed to get the certificate at the end of this because I wasn't a professional welder but the instruction and experience was very good.

These days I get a lot good info from Jodie at Welding tips and tricks. This is a great YouTube channel.

I agree with Stiffy. Practice makes perfect. Get a welder and give it a go on some scrap.
