I love the fact that many of the manufacturers are producing models that give a styling nod to the models origins. I've been sick of the generic streamlined blobs that car producers have been making for years now. Nice to see some cars coming back that value style a little more than function.

It'd be cool to see some of the other manufacturers follow suit. As an example I'd love to see Nissan produce an modern day version of the 240Z rather than the blob that we got for the 350z and 370z. The new Z is not a bad looking blob but the original 240Z looked fast standing still.

Cheers

My dad had a 240Z when we were kids. Chocolate brown! Dad was a wool broker, and regularly travelled around VIC and Southern NSW. I recall my brother and I joining him for a week in school holidays. Even as a 9 year old, the back seat was so tiny we were totally cramped and had to make dad stop every 30 mins so we could stretch!

But jeez it was cool!

A good friend on the east coast has 2 of the 2015 Mustangs at his disposal--they went to the track wed night. The GT turned a 13.0 in the 1/4, the ecoboost 4 cylinder ran a 13.8. Pretty good numbers.

It's pretty sad that Ford have to introduce a fake sound to supplement the 4 cylinder's exhaust note. A tuner in the US has cracked the ECU and isolated this sound...

So let me get this right, the 2015 xr8 falcon has the boss 5.4 supercharged at 335kw std, and the coming 2015 mustang has the 5.0 coyote naturally aspirated at 335kw std, thats what ive read.

Update, sorry, it is the coyote Boss 5.0 supercharged in the xr8, just went back and reread the email, my mistake i didnt know they are calling the coyote a boss motor, so the mustang will have almost the same power with no supercharger.

Xr8 falcon 5.0 supercharged 335kw
mustang 5.0 naturally aspirated 325kw.
The falcon must be detuned or that is a pissweak supercharger.

Don't forget the NA donk is only 5.0 Tom, that's some pretty tidy numbers for a factory 5l street donk.

436HP or 1.43HP per inch. I'm guessing the Falcon would have a far better torque curve.

A mate of mine has a new black on black v8 mustang on order. Will be in one of the first shipments. Looking forward to checking it out.

Cheers

So you know I organised a morning with a friendly Ford dealer in Vegas a couple of weeks back and took the EccoBoost and the GT for a spin. I reckon the 4cyl turbo will sell pretty well! In fact the missus is very interested.

I reckon I saw one of these 'Stangs (mostly 4cyl version or the 6cyl they also have) every 10 minutes while I was in Miami. Seriously! I hope they don't become that common here . Anyway, the finish and features, ride and comfort where outstanding (unless your over 4ft tall and sitting int he back of the hardtop).

I love the look of them, but I think unless you sign up you will be waiting....
Saw an article few months back saying they had already 2000+ firm orders.
Approx 45k for the turbo
Approx 55k for the V8
Great pricing.....if you can get one....

I guess like always there will be a few used cars available when all the hype wears off. I will go sit in one first, my aim was / is to have GT40, Alloy Cobra and 67 Mustang sitting in the garden shed. But the new Stang being released in Oz ruined that
