How about finding a Audi RS4 drivetrain, shorten the tailshaft and squeze this in a Pace for a AWD 310kw monster, Add lambo Gallardo wheels. Theres your modern day supercar.

Oh..... not a ford (insert sad face here)

this is what I like about building a KIT CAR is you get too choose all the best bits and put them into one package that suits your particular needs . I was like you not long ago with the ford engine I drove people on here crazy when I was looking to buy a completed car in the end I couldn't find anything that suited my needs or price range back then .
in my case it has to be auto as I have a mangled left leg that most clutches arnt friendly with the way my leg and ankle works or dosent work .
when I built my first cobra you would have been shot for putting anything but a ford engine in altho there was a few 308 and chev powered as well as a turbo rb 30 around at the time in the end I decided on a 6 lt with a 6 speed auto im not after a race car just a nice sunday cruiser the bloke you pass on the footpath wont know or care whats under the bonnet when you go past there usually just in awe of what they look like .
cheers dean

Probably true, but i dont know about you, but i can tell whats under the bonnet by listening to the sound of the firing order.

Tommy you could probably pick a Ford by smelling or tasting the oil too! ;)

There is a lot you can do to change the look of the LS.:D
I fitted a supercharger cam that has a serious lope at idle, so with the bonnet closed I challenge anybody that doesn't know the car to pick that is fitted with an LS engine.:)

I always wanted a cobra with a ford Windsor in it but after i seen this engine I bit my tongue and bought it. I have never looked back. A cobra is like a rod anything go's. It doesn't matter how hard you try you will never build a cobra identical to the original so you might as well get the best of all worlds and use the best parts of any make or model of car. And if U want a original bye a original but i bet it won't drive as good or go as good as a cobra replica.

albanycobra 01-01-2015 09:50 PM

I dont mind the look of the LS motor and it can be made to look very pretty and go bloody hard for cheap but they just dont sound as good as a Ford motor I reckon, might be something to do with the firing order.

Apparently this 707HP engine is going cheap...

I'll be happy with this me thinks? Not over the top but should be a good street engine.

.

You can't beat the sound of the 347 Windsor with Eight carb Webbers but they'are so expensive to build. I built a Mustang with 365 cubic inch Windsor With dart block and AFR heads, And forged internals. It cost me 10 grand and that was only in long motor stage with no cam or rocker gear. And it would never pass emissions for a Cobra build. throw 10 grandad a LS motor And You will have an animal of a motor 600 + hp. LS motors Sound pretty good with a decent cam. I love Windsors And of been a Ford boy all my life but a LS Motor will save you a ****load of money And more hp. I would rather have more hp than a Ford badge under the Bonnet. But if money is no object build a crazy Windsor. They are a beautiful motor.

albanycobra 01-02-2015 06:37 PM

An AU Falcon 302 windsor will pass emissions??? Find an AU XR8 with the factory 347 motor. I got my 40 licensed with a windsor and it passed ok. Contact Roaring Forties for a 8 stack induction with ecu that passes emissions. Problem solved.
