Seeing pics like this (whilst have been few are far between) give me excitement pains.
Look at that metally goodness. |
Another week is almost passed and we edge closer to deadlines.......Mark is chipping away and making good progress.
My favourite picture at the moment. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...0/image320.jpg |
Some people will go to any lengths to have their picture on CC
Looking good, Dave. NO - THE CAR!! Cheers Glen |
Very talented to do that sort of work so perfectly.. Hope fully not too far away now.
How's the chassis coming along, or is that done? |
The wait should be worth it going by the quality of the work. It will be too nice to paint
|
Yes chassis is ready but will need whatever mods are required for the body. Chassis was actually ready a year ago.
Good update from Pace today. Packing is on track. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...0/image322.jpg |
More from Mark. Looks fantastic.

Hi Dave,
Hope the excitement is building for you, it is for me as an onlooker, its just beautiful. Marks skill is remarkable, its amazing to watch this develop. With the refinements to the Pace chassis and kit as the numbers climb, and your skills, it will end up at the top of the kit car builds for sure. Really looking good. regards Dave |

Dave, they say good things come to those who wait. I think your waiting time qualifies you for something absobloominlutely off the scale! |
Cheers Fella's, its great having the support of the forum , has helped me greatly.
Even went out to the shed today and looked at the lonely 5.0ltr with its 5 speed box and almost thought about starting to clean up the T5....lol. |
T5? Me thinks a billet 6 spd sequential is needed!!!!! U gotta match the bling Dave! I have a spare u know.
|
A billet 6spd should be in everyones car.....Im really not sure what to do about driveline.

Hi Ben.
I visited Marks shop just prior to Easter, from his pictures on Facebook, I assumed he was a one man show, but he actually employees 2 other craftsman that work there with him. So its not a case of moving one man between multiple jobs. When I called in, I think I counted 6-7 cars on the go in the building. So what looks like a bit here and a bit there, is more likely what work one guy did this week, what work that guy did that week etc. Quote:

Was thinking today this car needs a special motor, Im thinking a Windsor Clevor (Boss)type motor might be the go. I have built a lot of motors in my time but not a Clevor and my current 414ci Windsor is real nice in my 40 but the cam is to angry for nice cruising in a Cobra
Thinking CHI 3V heads, 427 stroker crank, Custom 8 stack intake, 427 Cobra valve covers. Anyone know of any Dart / world or similar blocks laying around? or where the best place to buy a block from? |
Alloy or iron?
What deck height? |

That said how do you get something like that through emissions in W.A. Are they more relaxed on it than in other states or will this be a club rego thing where emissions are negated by virtue of the club rego system? P.S. just remembered that if you do use a std block you will need to make some releif points on the bottom of the piston skirts for rod clearance - pre-assembly is a must IMHO. Cheers Wil |
Craig not sure but iron is the go and 9.5 deck height but could do a 8.2 deck block and a 347 as well. Will look at all options.
Wil it's been great talking to you and I have enjoyed our offline conversations as well. I will talk more to about your build. Over here we do a free rev emission test. Idle and 3000 rpm. I would have to use a very stock grind cam shaft, and really good cats. All doable. |
