Okay... after a bit of messing around and the use of a camera on a bendy pole I've now got the engine number.

I'm currently on the phone (on hold) to the DOT to ask them but I thought this might be a good alternative...

How do I go about getting a VIN now that I've got the engine number?

I've been through the DOT website and not really found anything applicable.
