Good stuff, It'll be a very satisfying project. I didn't dynabolt mine to the floor, just used heavy duty adjustable feet and attached to the wall via the splash back. Super stable and sturdy. Haven't felt the need to bolt it down.
If you want heavy duty how about 100mm square legs with 100x50 heavy wall C channel frame. topped of with a piece of 12mm plate. It's very heavy but awesome to weld and fabricate on. Still movable thanks to castors and adjustable feet.
The C channel makes it easy to clamp things to the top while keeping the whole thing rigid right out the the edges
Cheers

just when you think you're serious, someone else blows you away.....lol awesome bench Mike.......Scaled my size down to 75 x 50 x3 tube and 4mm steel bench tops and am ordering enough to 16m worth of benching.....basically down one side of the shed....with a mesh lower shelve and using 150mm x 5mm flat bar welded to back protruding up 100mm as a splash back. priced at about $1800 plus welding....

Wow Mike, that's an awesome fabricating / welding table! I made a small rolling version out of big angle and 3/16" plate with wheels so I can roll it out of the garage when I am welding. I put the tabs under the top at each end for an extra place to clamp ground if I need to ground the whole table. As heavy as it is and with all the scrap metal below, it still rolls easily. Not very pretty, but functional for me.

For medium weight items, I use the wall mount brackets. I have them on three walls of an ancillary room to the garage. What I like about it is I can use 12" shelves on the lower levels and 24" shelves up top.
I used 6"x12" beams for the bench surface. Ridiculous I know, but I wanted a long unencumbered span between the supports. You can put your car on that bench. Don't be jealous of that 1991 Plymouth Colt sneaking into the picture.
By the way - I imported that belt grinder from Oz. One of my favorite tools.

HA! Very similar to mine, including the clutter!
I built mine from lumber years ago too. Added peg board above the bench and plain old kitchen cabinets above across the whole lot. Then put continuous flour lites under the cabinets to light up the bench.
Looks like an old Vidmar tool chest on the right. Good old stuff. I have one in the same place!

Well, it's no beer fridge. And between the dear wifey of 31 years and the Cobra, there is no cash!

Cool setups Paul and Glen. I love sheds and workshops near as much as the cars inside them.
Keep us posted on the bench build Albanycobra.
Cheers

I like your ramps, Bernie, they're manual lift up jobbies I see. Nice, simple, robust.

KwikLift. Love it! Many guys here have them.
No mechanical or electric parts and solid as a rock. Raises the car about 20", which is perfect for me floating around on my creeper underneath.

i scored about 4 metre long pallet racking that locks into itself and for the shelfs i used old solid house doors from a salvage yard as they were the right width and cheap 10 bucks each i think i used 6 doors all up and ive manged to fill them with junk and spare parts for the race car .
i am too embarrassed to take a pic of the inside of my shed atm it needs a major tidy up hence why the cobras been built on the enclosed carport on the house and i rent workshop space to build my trailers lol .. bigger the racking the bigger the shed and more junk to store :-)

No. But I will only say that the house is well protected.

Nice big area to work with! Wish I had something like that.
The painful part is hauling everything out, sorting and storing it somewhere, and then getting busy with the organizational plan for the "new and improved" garage! Follow the threads here on ideas that I wish I had thought of.
How do I know this? I'm about to go through the same on a smaller scale. Building a 900 s.f. new garage (largest allowed in my area).
Paying up the arse for storage and no idea when I will be done is frustrating!

I love pallet racking for storage.
Work bench I bought for $100 from a closing down workshop.
Keep an ear open for workshops closing, they sell stuff cheap.
My $500 hoist (old 4tonne Molnar).

I agree. When shops shut down they pretty much just have to sell off the lot of what they have. Pallet racks are great if you have the room. They are pretty much bullet-proof!
