Just the fact that the car is sitting on four tiny plates and heavy work can move the car a bit. Bolting them to the floor makes them a permanent fixture as well. They require a thicker footing to mount to as well. ( more mods to the floor slab) My four poster has a sliding scissor jack when I want to remove wheels etc. I just feel more comfortable under a four post rather than a two post.

Nothing wrong with a good 2 post hoist.

A good 4 post does feel more secure.

Touch wood, I have never had a car in trouble on a hoist.
