Les,

How many wheels have you got on that Cobra? If it takes you 24 hrs to get to Wellington Point from way up north.

If you wish I'll meet you with the cruiser and tow you down.

I'm still waiting on Scott and Craig (and Craig's 12 Cobras) to confirm before we make an official car park booking spot (beach or grass - your choice).

Look forward to putting a face to the writing whit or slavva (depends on your disposition)

1PM suits me. Crownies for anyone early.

Crownies if I'm early? I'll be down there in 40 minutes...

I'll be there on the 25th at 1pm. Scott, do you have the full email listing that Craig White uses from time to time when he sends out bulk emails?

Les, please send your mapping coordinates. Do I need my passport to get there?

You beat me to post by two minutes!

Les doesn't actually own a Cobra. Just go along with his delusional talk. It makes him happy

Don't hold me to a dozen Cobras, but if the word gets around, it's not uncommon to get 20 cars out on a nice day. 12 should be achievable...

Craig,

That answers my query why it takes Les so long to get from north of the river to Wello - He walks!

Will bring Les a toy Cobra just to keep him happy.

Look forward to meeting you too.

OK guys.....things are looking good for the 25th.

My better half has invited all Cobra's , drivers, passengers and Les back to our place for a sizzle afterwards.

What we would like to do is raise a bit of money for the surf life savers and forward it onto Channel 7 and maybe get a mention for the best cars under the sun.

How about all Cobras and Les contribute say $10 for a good cause?

Promise I won't spend the $$$ on the Cobra - can't think what I need anyway.

...other than some new electrics!!!

Drinks and a sizzle on a sunny Saturday arvo sounds like a top idea to me. As soon as I get the full Qld Cobra Club email list, I'll get the word around.

Oi you blokes... I got my own toy snake taa....Play with it regular

Gawwdd..another donation...you mean I gotta give up the church money for the lifesavers..what will father say??

Went and had a look at my real cobra yesterday....getting some glass work done...Bluddy idiots put the fuel filler well in all wrong..they gotta do it again..Grrr!!

Pete, I've got 4 wheels taa...actually 4 wheels with tyres..they're sitting in the shed all by themselves....My body is not here at the moment so my make believe Vroom Vroom noises involve me runnin up and down the road with the wheels...you try keeping 4 loose wheels to all go the same way...no wonder it takes me an age to get anywhere.

Cya all on the 25th.

Les,

Has nobody told you that the intent of having a Cobra is putting it all together, not playing with the parts on their own.

Like you, my Cobra is away getting its electricals sorted.

All I've got in the garage is a set of BF Goodrichs (fair bit of tread if you want to buy them)

When the Cobra's not there its not the same.

Oih I don't know about your vroom vroom, mine sounds more like a grhhh grhhh.

Nuh...dont want ya BFG's taa

I got me some brand new Yokohama 352 ..295/50/15 and 235/60/15...sitting in the shed....on nice shiny ozwheels pretend halibrand rims.

In fact soon as the car is on the road I'm gonna buy another set of tyres to put away...I'm a lil concerned about the long term availability of wide 15" tyres.

Mine definitely makes Vroom Vroom sounds..actually....it pi$$es me off to have to come to this computer to play some cobra vids to get my fix.

Before I send out a bulk email, just confirming.......
Name of Pub? (The Wello on the main road?)
Time 1pm definitely?
Sausage sizzle at Peter's place afterwards (Also in Wellington Point?)
3pm at Peter's for those that can't make it earlier?
Reserved parking available at the pub?
Can the nervous Nellies see their car from the tables....
Much room at Peter's place for Cobra parking on or off the street?

And my only question - does the local cop have a problem with supercharged or turbocharged Cobras???

Craig,

Just confirming your queries......

No good at the pub in Wellington Point as streetscape works are going on. The nervous nellies might end up with a bobcat running over their cars.

Meet at the point itself (simply drive through Wellington Point until the road ends - its all tarmaced). There's amply open parking although we may have to commondere an area. Definitely safe for the nellies.

There's a cafe / pub at the end - don't know its name, but its the only one.

1PM is fine.

3PM at my place - 25 Hanover Drive Alex Hills (nice area - so again safe). Room for 7-8 cars on the drive / garage, with safe on road parking / neighbours etc.

Regards local cops, they do travel down to the point but mainly at night time (keeping an eye on the Hot Rodders). Craig, simply freewheel down and when leaving don't look back.

I think that covers it.

Let me know as you get confirmations - just to make sure I have enough snags.

Gawwddd....so this lil get-together is gonna be down by the water?

Why didn't ya say that before I bought the blu$$y tent and GPS?.

I live 5 minutes from Sandgate so I could swim down there.

Hey Les,

Whatch out for those sharks....mind you they say they only go for good meat!

At least you will be swimming down hill. Not sure how you'll cope going back up hill.

Why don't you bring down a couple of those wheels you have. They'd be ideal for sitting our stubbies on!

Forget the tent unless you plan camping at my place. Not sure the Koala's will be too pleased.

Got Warren to come from the Gold Coast on the 25th.

He has a black beast and knows you Craig.

Also introduced to this Site so hopefully will have more QLD support.

... and so it begins! I've sent an email to Craig White, and he'll get the message out.

Thanks for getting the word out about this website. It'd be nice to have more Qlders on here....

Hi Fellas..I just invited Mick(alias cob460) and his Bro-in-law Craig from WA, and Rob Armstrong (9 sec Cobra) to the lil Wellington Point get-to-gether.

The boys from the west are staying at Redcliffe for the next 3 weeks and are off to the drags at Gladstone this weekend, but would be great if they could make it weekend after.

Lets hope they find the time.
I'll advise when I get a reply

Jason..your get-together was for a Sunday Brunch..our blokes..being the good lil christian fellas they are....go to confession on sundays.

That takes em all day..so leaves bu$$er all time for socialising.

Besides...if its raining in Melbourne..what else can ya do but go and annoy some poor strugglin lil cafe owner.

Hey...saw the pics of your car at the nationals...looks nice..

Did ya ever post the results of that new intake you made?...ie., did it make a noticable difference?

not sure if the intake made that much difference on the track.
it looks heaps better thou, and that was the main reason behind the change. ran a couple of mid 12's at Heathcote the other week for the first time, so maybe it does work a little better.

and before we start talking about wet weekends.
I have 2 words for you "wet season".

28 and sunny in Melbourne this weekend.

Let have a look at the Brissy forecast:
BRISBANE METROPOLITAN AREA
Fine at first. A late afternoon shower or storm. Light to moderate NE to NW winds.
Bayside for Thursday ... MIN 15 MAX 25
UV INDEX - 10 [Very High]
Friday ... The chance of an afternoon shower or storm. MIN 15 MAX 26
Saturday ... Mostly fine. MIN 16 MAX 26

We're only going to get sunnier down here over the next couple of months.
It's going to get a lot wetter for you fellas.

he he he....
