Default Side indicators

Does anyone have a suggestions on what they think looks ok when it comes to side indicators and placement.

I have purchased a couple of different types VY Comm and Mazda MX-5 but it is hard to determine what would look ok or unnoticable.

Any suggestions

Thanks
Stuart

I used side indicators from a Magna. Not too large and suit the car lines well.

I personally like the tear drop shapes.
Magna is a good choice.
Also depends on the car colour.
I went with clear Fairlane indicators (bit bigger than the Magna.)

I made a couple of brackets to mount the blinkers on the side vents to get threw rego then have taken them back off to keep it looking authentic just a thought if you dont want to drill holes in your guard.

That idea appeals to me I wish I had thought of that before I had already drilled a hole in the drivers side guard.

The car is going to be Black and the painter has already warned me about trying to fill holes in f/glass.

Thanks

Hi Stuart
Spoke to Engineer the other day about this.
He told me the indicators have to be minimum 350mm
from the ground and 1/3 thrd the length of the car.
Meaning that the indicator placement . Eg.If car is three
metre's long, Indicators have to be one metre back from the front
of car.

Hope this helps
Gino

I'm using the round hella lights, they are ADR approved and pretty cheap. I like round lights as I think they look more old fashioned.

I thought the smaller the better. The best ones I have seen are small and round with a chrome ring around them. They are available from Europaspares, unfortunately they are about $130 each.

VT commodore ones are available in orange or clear and are only about $30.00. (or cheaper if you work out how to flick them out of the side of a car!!!!!.............so i have been told!).

If you can get a model that they came off I can get you a price on new ones, (I work in a large dealership & Mitsubishi is one of our models we sell)

Thanks Shelby400 & Boxhead,

I went down to the Mitsu. dealer on Saturday to suss them out. The Magna ones were $12.70 each which I got a pair of. On my way out of the shop I passed the car yard and noticed the exact same light but in clear plastic on a 2003 Lancer. So I went back in and did a swap since I reckon the clear looks better even though it's not authentic looking.

Thanks for the offer Boxhead, but for the low price it's probably not worth the effort of troubling you.

Previously I had the Hella round-but-square amber jobbies. Was never totally happy with the look but at least they got me through Rego. Looks like I'll have to cut a bigger hole now - better this than the other way round.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll post a pic of the clear Lancer lights in a day or two.

Cheers,
Adrian.
