Hi Bernie,

I was very happy with the sound of Phil's pipes. Nice deep note to them but not super loud. It's was great to be able to listen to them at full noise down the main straight and I feel much happier now that I know the baffle design sounds good.

I'm now thinking of a couple of free flowing baffle designs that will also allow you to vary the collector length internally. They will make plenty of noise for track days and it'll only be a 20 minute job to swap them over from the quiet baffles. All possible with the pipes still on the car too.

Jason N and I were talking about a Super Southern Cobra Fest. We could hold it at Winton Raceway which is about 2.5 hrs Nth of Melbourne. That would make it a better trip than Goulburn for our South Australian friends and only about 6hrs for our NSW friends.

There's accomodation in the nearby towns of Benella or Wangaratta. Or the more hardy of us could camp at the track.

The Vic club is currently working on a big BBQ trailer so BBQ meals could be done at the track. Personally I think I would enjoy a more informal get together around a BBQ or a counter meal at a pub than a sit down meal with entertainment.

The event could be organised around 2 days of sprints. There would probably be more track time per driver as we wouldn't have as many cars as the nationals.

I would also like to see a super cruise where you get all the Cobras together and go for a run somewhere for a meal or something.

I think it should be run around March as there should still be good weather around that time but not the blistering heat of mid summer. Also this puts it about 6 months after the nationals as I think 1 national event per year just isn't enough to keep us all fired up.

We should start up a discussion on this and get some ideas going.

Cheers
