Aero Screens

Hi Ant,

The aero screen worked out fine. I did the angle across the bottom out of a strip of aluminium sheet bent at 45 degrees. I worked the curves into it using a shrinker/stretcher machine I bought. I cut the screen itself from 3mm Lexane sheet because it's shatterproof.

This is my first atempt and Im working on another one. The next one will have a little more rake and will also be curved back towards the ends. It was quite effective on the track and took the wind blast away. You would still need to wear wrap around sunglasses to keep the dust out of your eyes.

Thanks Ant,

Some people liked it others hated the look but I like it so that's all that matters. I made this one a bit shorter as I plan to have it fitted for engineering. I wanted it low enough that it wasn't in your line of vision at all that way I could say it was just a wind deflector and not optical.

A taller version would be more livable on the road when not wearing a helmet.

I have used a single aero screen all one piece (cant get my photos small enough to upload CC with this old Mac computer) but it worked extremely well, better than an original screen with less wind buffeting, same height as yours!
