Default delay for warning lights

gday boys
i was wondering what you guys have used in the way of a bulb check function
and time delay for the seat belt light and low brake fluid light i was thinking of using the alt circuit light but it does not stay on long enough
i have heard of a delay relay which by sounds of things will be nice and compact
any thoughts will be greatly appreciated
cheers
jess

i got a time delay from a electronics shop up here on the suny coast , comes on for 15 seconds when ignition is turned on . cost about $30 .
i found out i had to have it just before redg and luckily had a spare light on dash , got out the label maker "seatbelt warning light" then tore the $%&er off when i drove out of main roads (rta)

Hi DNB04, Got any more details on that delay circuit? I'm wiring my dash at the moment and wouldn't mind incorporating one.

Cheers

Michael

Talking

i cant find receipt for it , but the place i got it is not far from work i will drop in tomorrow and see how much and let you know , as for redgo i did all what the engineer said to do and it went thru no probs , i had a mirror mounted to dash that he said would not get thru , but i was not going to mount a breakaway to windscreen and take off and possilbly break screen after (dont like them on screen ) and main roads did not say sh%T, same as reversing lights reflectors, took them off after redg, i have been driving for 18 months and never been done for any of the above , oh and my rear licence plate is under rear bar and no one has said sh$t also ,

Default Seat belt warning light.

I used a build yourself kit from Jaycar electronics. It was not real complicated but took a bit of fiddling.

The kit is an "interior light Delay" for cars.

The kit number is KC5392 and it costs $18.95. You can order online from Jaycar.

I cannot remenber exactly but I used the starter position on the ignition to trigger the delayed switching off. I think you trick the unit into thinking the lights were turned off. For some reason that I cannot remember, I used a relay to help confuse the circuit.

Good luck, I know it took me about 3 nights to get it right.

G'day,
Luckily the factory seats I bought have provision for a seat belt circuit already on the driver's seat. So as soon as you do buckle up the light will go off.
