Angry " Thats It "

Its OK Lads i know what you all going to say, i'ts obvious now that Aussie Mike just cant be tusted to complete his car, we've given him a little room getting a couple of extra bits for his LONG LONG term project, Or thats what he told us, but its now come to a point that he's just mocking all of US.

SO IM ON MY WAY to Mikes house to pick up a couple of his obvious distracting goodies so he can really focus on the task in which he originally set himself.

Sorry Mke but its just got to be done, by the time your read this you'll be at work, i just phoned Lilly ( Mike's lovely patient wife ) for access to the shed and by the time you get home items not required will be confiscated and if your car is not running and REG by the Nationals, the items will be Auctioned off HERE.

Sorry Mike, but sometimes things just have to be done, for the greater good of the Force.

See it's that power of the dark side makes one: "more machine than man - twisted and evil". Keep on adding those bits AM!

Clearly a distractant Mike, as I looked up my last post to this forum just before I bought my car in Feb 06, that last post to you was in 2001!!!

Now 5 years later I have a roller sitting in my garage, what have you been doing!!?!?

A delighted Mike Murphy shuffles out to the garage to take his cobra on its maiden voyage (As oil supplies ran out decades ago, ls1 has been turned into beer cans, and cobra propulsion now by "Mr Fusion" hyperdrive).....

I don't know, I really like the way Mike thinks.

And who wouldn't get distracted having that blower sitting there.

The stock manifold is going back on for rego it was only a a momentary distraction. I just wanted to bolt it up and see if the bonnet would shut. Looks like it'll all fit easily under the standard bonnet and hood scoop and the only giveaway will be the noise it makes (and possibly large black tyre marks behind it).

The wiring loom is progressing well. The dash is all done and I'm working on the steering column connections now. I've mounted two aluminium panels on the fire wall behind the dash and all the relays and the fuse box etc are attached to the panels. It makes it much easier to work on as you can pull the panel out and wire it up on the bench. Hope to post a couple of pics of them soon.

Now where can I get me one of those Mr Fusion thingies?...

Cheers

Is it just me, or do Classic Revival body look higher, especially below the doors? They also seem to have a greater amount of height for engine fitment(bonnet -> sump clearance).

They do appear to be a bit deeper in the body but I think it's a bit of an ilusion. a lot of the bodies out there have a lip on the bottom edge that attaches to the chassis out riggers. The CR body curves down past the chassis rails and the floor attaches it to the chassis. I think you might be right about the door line being a bit higher

Bernie has a homebush body on his and it looks super low when you are standing next to it but parked next to Phil's CR and they are about the same overall height.

There's tons of room in the engine bay with an LS1 because they are a very compact motor. Even compared to the 302 they are compact as the heads are more upright than splayed out. The manifold is also very low profile making it look smaller.

Wink Go Garrett !

Get in there an nab those bits. Especially the blower and the diff cooler (diff cooler - for cryin' out loud).

I am the anti-Mike. If there is a cheap and quick way of doing it - that's the way.

We LOVE Mikes work and the photo's he shares with us, and we LOVE the generosity he show with his library of solutions, but we'd love to see him on the road even more.

So nab those bits Garrett and post picture of them before the spinning cut-off wheel to 'help him focus'

Oi Uncle Mike
Ya don't havta go makin excuses for those aluminium thingys. We all know they are ok for gettin cobras thru rego etc.

Tis sad that ya havta go putting compressor thingys on em to make em go tho.

I feel heaps better now

Hi Gav and welcome back.

The idea with the water/methanol injection is that you spray a fine mist in through the top of the blower. It's about a 50/50 mix of water and methanol but you can run a variety of mixes from straight water to straight methanol. As it makes it's way through the blower and into the intake plenium it evaporates and pulls heat out of the incomming charge. The methanol bumps up the octane rating of the incomming charge slightly as an added bonus.

You can get some neat electronic controllers that will turn on the system and vary the speed of the injection pump based on manifold pressure. So the system is only running when you need it and injects progressively more as the boost increases.

Les, what can I say...

Cheers

Default Auctions ON

Hi , Guys just back from Mikes and this is what i got.

1. Tall slim blonde wife. low K's runs very smooth and well educated.
2. neglected child also blonde very cute ( keeps saying "are you my dad" as she said she hasnt seen hers for a while.

The shed was locked and had some sort of space shuttle hovering over it.

The wife already had her bags packed and the child was just to cute to leave without a father.

Will Post photo of wife 1/2 finished cobra and go fast bits as she seems to have packed up every thing so was no need to get into the shed, P.S she mentions she will seperate cobra from her self and the child as not to let the state of the Cobra hurt her chances of getting a better price.

Stay tuned for photo...
