This is just a general observation...

But isn't it impossible to have an ADR compliant generic exhaust system for a Cobra.

From what I understand, to get ADR compliance, involves the total package - engine, intake system and exhaust system. The whole package is ADR complianced. If any part of the package is changed, it is no longer ADR complianced...unless that change has been specifically re-ADR tested with rest of the package.

So ADR compliant aftermarket exhausts for Cobra would be near impossible as everyone uses different engine/intake combinations.

But ADR compliant aftermarket exhaust for Falcon XR6, is quite doable as the base vehicles are all the same. Just add the exhaust changes, get it re-tested and voila, you have an ADR complianced exhaust any XR6 owner can use.

So when Superformance got 347 stroker ADR complianced, the ADR compliance would only be valid if the engine configuration, intake & exhaust system were identical to the complianced setup.

ADR compliance isn't just getting emmissions to standard, but would also cover noise.

It's a lot simpler when it comes to lights etc and ADR compliancing. But hey, we just use parts off production vehicles as we already know they have ADR compliance.

I'm no expert on this and could be looking at this the wrong way. Any comments?

Default I'm confused!

Umm, I'm confused...
To quote "Side Pipes On Ebay That Do Work???????, Well Im The Guy Who Built Them, And As For Adr Thay Pass, I Have Built Over Ten Of Them Over The Past Ten Years Or So, And You Are Correct About The Adr For The Left Hand Side Being Allowed, But Now Its Straight Out The Back. The Pipes I Build Have Cats And Co2 Sencor Mountings. The System Goes Back, Under The Chassis And Over The Rear Axle And Out The Back. So Thay Pass[/i]

How can they be ADR side pipes if they run out the back??? What am I missing??
