Anybody know a source of information on the options available for engines and the pros and cons, or is the biggest the best?

Chev is best, big, small, new, old, cast iron or alloy will always get a reaction around here

What ever you choose will be the right choice for you, and that is the important thing to remember.

Definitely no substitute for cubes. Says the person who fitted a 4lt engine in the last Cobra they built.

Seriously though, which state you want to register your Cobra in, will determine engine choices.

Talk to your engineer first befire buying anything

Think about what you are going to do with the car down the road a bit too. If you are going to build and then sell, better think about which motor will aid in the resale value. If it's for you and a keeper, more options, assuming your engineer will agree to your choice. Also, depends on how deep your pocket is for what options you are going to put on/in it and how your big petrol budget is.

Consider a crate motor. Plug and play. Use gear ratios that let you cruse at 80mph at around 3000 rpm . David kee transmission for advise. Good Luck
