Having had an animal-related cobra accident, I can really sympathise. I figure it will be well-sorted by the Nationals. Generally speaking, I prefer to take the animal out. Cars and obstacles on the side of the road are less forgiving.

If the body was bonded to the chassis - similar damage, what would the repairers do? Just curious.

Cheers.

They just cut-off the affected areas of glass, repair the chassis area where required, get new fibreglass pieces moulded up, bond the new fibreglass to body and chassis.

I know Warwick(Harrison) has been involved in plenty of repairs to his own cars and other bonded style kits. Well not actually HIS cars, but Harrison Cobras.

To be honest I don't think it would be much different time/cost wise when you look at the total job.

Well I have the feed back from the repairer Ian.
Betty will require a new body the impact has shunted the body forward and stuffed it.
So the nationals are not going to see Betty this year.
I should get her back in 3 months.

Paul, Glad to see your repairer advised to replace the body.

Fiberglass is a great product but hides damage. Often what looks like relatively minor damage could be masking much more serious damage.

Good that you are getting a new body.

If you can, get the old body back....it would make a great starting point for a cobra body plug.

Not that you'd be wanting to make cobra bodies.

Paul

will the insurance company let you keep Betty's first skin ?

It would look awesome repaired and mounted to the side of a bar room wall.
With some great racing memorabilia etc. is sure could make a great room.

There has to be a bright side to this unfortunate incident.

Leeroy.

I love Leeroy's idea. I've got just the wall to put on. I'll take it!
